An Open Letter to Oprah Winfrey
You made me cry today in your spectacular, frenzied effort to help the empoverished children of South Africa. You reach out to help people all the time. Your heart is certainly in the right place. And, you are beloved by the world for your heroic efforts. But, other
than refreshing the world's attention on the problems and temporarily relieving the grief of a lucky few, all your actions in this regard are little more than tiny temporary bandages on just a few of the many festering "symptoms" of the real, underlying problem. But, you can make a difference for everyone on Earth.
You see, the world has outgrown
the rules of globalism. Yet this feudal view of the world persists beyond
it's usefulness, destroying our ecosystems and enslaving humanity on
worsening terms. It forces the world's leaders into a global, cut-throat survival contest to produce ever cheaper supply to meet ever increasing demand. It widens the gap between the haves and have nots. What we have now is global "demockery" in a Wal-Mart-world economy, in which small businesses, job security and benefits are dissappearing at about the same rate as the median wage is being reduced to its lowest denominator.
A problem must be attacked at its root. The root cause of poverty,
as with most common public problems, is that mankind's decisions are made
by the few: Not the many. Until the collective mind of mankind has a viable means
of accurately defining and self-proclaiming its true will in every regard, locally
and globally, little can change our fate.
Power does corrupt: but only in the hands of the few. In literally everyone's
hands, absolute power will absolutely uncorrupt this planet. Collectively,
we can only make decisions with which most of us agree and which are in
the best interests of humanity and nature. We can not, therefore, become
an unreasonable mob. Our diverse vast majorities will NOT decide to invade
other countries with no provocation, to continue facilitating pollution,
Dearest, most compassionate Oprah, there is no democracy on Earth.
There never has been. And, until it happens, a thousand Oprahs couldn't
solve the single problem of poverty, let alone the rest of our overwhelming, systemically-related, common public problems. Yet, you are one of the
few universally respected people on Earth who I sincerely believe has the power to lead humanity
toward unity and, therefore, true empowerment.
Humanity must collectively deal with all our local and global problems at the same
time, at our convenience, through a sensible, publicly owned and operated,
transparent, ever-evolving forum system which scientifically defines the will of all
those most affected by each and every decision. Such a new institution would unshackle mankind from the
anchor of the elite ruling minority's corruption which keeps us quagmired
in the past. It will end the waste, predatory abuse and institutionalized graft
of our antiquated governance and commercial systems. Real solutions are quite
impossible from within our existing systems, because they are the problem.
Once freed from "the old systems," our new found wealth, hope and freedom will
explode mankind's social advancement to catch-up with and keep pace with our technology. Then humanity can rightly evolve "cooperatively" into the stars.
Please invite John Bunzl onto your show. He is a London business man, activist and author of "The Simultaneous Policy," the simplest solution to this whole vicious global stalemate. You can reach him at firstname.lastname@example.org. I'm fairly sure he would be happy to arrange a panel of world renown experts for the show, if you like.
The Simultaneous Policy will be an international, democratically
defined list of mankind's minimum rules for governing and doing business
on Earth. It will replace negative competition with positive cooperation. John's movement, the International Simultaneous Policy
Organisation, needs all the publicity we can give it. It's a very feasible, free and timely means to empower
humanity to self-determination. And, of course, your involvement will enable much quicker, greater participation by the world's population, even if John Bunzl appears only once on your show.
But, imagine a new fusion of technologies; a local/global game show/website. ( I bet John would make a great co-host.) While the website works around the clock to define the will of the people, the game show rewards the authors of the most popular solutions each week as it updates viewers on progress of current events within hot spots of "the people's legislature." It could also facilitate tv-interactive phone and mail polls to enable participants without computers. Who knows? Perhaps, some day, voting options on our tv controllers will enable us to even tame the tv beast to tolerable annoyance levels... determining our future collective realities in real time by our programming reactions. The power of a united mind of mankind will, after all, be limited only by our best imaginations.
I hope MajorityVoice.org's votable, issue Forum System, the climax of over thirty years of my life's work, will have been repaired and completed in time to serve humanity in these first steps of our collective exodus toward planetary happiness. But, due to tragedy and circumstances, I'm financially unable to put the finishing touches on what
otherwise is now the "core code of the digital democracy of the future," unless ours is predestined to be a soilent green one.
This is our challenge to you, Oprah. Since you have the attention of the mind of mankind, please say what humanity wants to hear. Do what must be done. Do what you love most, what you do best and what you're doing anyway, while truly helping ALL of humanity to help ourselves. I'll help in any way I can. And, their children's children will appreciate your having done the same.
